Easter Weekend

This Easter was one of the most fun Easter's I've had in a long time. Though I'm sure I got way more excited about the Easter Bunny than Adam did, I think he liked it, too.

Kathy and Danielle, my good old Guilford friends, came for a visit, and we stayed at a nice hotel on Pensacola Beach and also rented a pontoon boat. Michelle and Pat also made it down for a brief visit.

Adam is on his way to walking, and can stand on his own for about 2 seconds before squatting down. he's also mastered clapping (as seen in the pic with his stuffed blue Easter Bunny)

San Diego

Adam and I flew out to San Diego to visit Nana and Papa Abbate. Though the plane ride was tough, we had an awesome time there. There is so much to do there, and its so beautiful. No wonder everyone wants to live there! One of my favorite places was a little beach town called del Mar. The kiddie parks had a waterfront view! We went to the beach, saw some seals, went hiking and wine tasting, and walked around the zoo. Adam has really gotten the hang of crawling, and he's wanting to stand and walk as much as possible (with help). Every monring, Adam and Nana would sit on the couch and look out the window for cars, trucks and dogs. Who knew that could be so much fun? We spent 10 fun-filled days there, and though its nice to be back home with Steve, we sure do miss Nana and Papa!

January

This month we decided to take a short trip to the Smoky Mountains. We rented a small cabin and were lucky enough to be there when it snowed! It was so pretty, and and I'm glad Adam got to see his first snow this year. Other than that, we've just been hanging around at home. Michelle has left Pensacola and has moved on to Meridian Mississippi, so Adam and I have to fend for ourselves until Steve gets home from work. Needless to say, we miss her very much and now we have to get used to being a smaller family. Adam has been working on crawling and pulling up to standing by himself. For now, I'll enjoy the fact that I don't yet have to worry about him scooting all over the place causing trouble!

Christmas Day

We had a fun morning of opening presents. Santa brought Steve a set of 1965 Corvette hub caps, and Sally a really cool outdoor fire pit. One of Adam's favorite presents is a cool musical toy that will help him learn how to walk (from Uncle Dan and Aunt Michelle). Adam LOVES giving Nana Abbate kisses - its quite funny. We had about 14 people at the house for dinner, including Steve's mother, aunt, grandmother, and cousins. We're so glad that both sides of the family could get together.

Christmas Eve

Our first family Christmas at the Earnest house! Adam's first gift was "Twas the Night Before Christmas" illustrated by Tasha Tudor - its the same book my Dad read to us every Christmas Eve when I was little! Here were are on the couch taking turns reading. Adam also got to hang his first Christmas ornament.

Its Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Christmas time is here, and we have been busy decorating and having fun. Pat (Michelle's boyfriend) came over for the weekend and helped us put up our 9 foot tree!

Lucky for Adam, his father comes equipped with about 1,000 toys that he might one day be able to play with. Lucky for Steve, he can use Adam as an excuse to play with his toy trains again!
